Please see the Director to get an estimated rating if you don’t have either. Teams can be formed by players themselves or by the Director. The general rule is to make “even” teams for better competition. Two types of teams:
Regular Team (RT). It is for players whose ratings are at 800 or above. The total rating of a team cannot be over 6000.
Handicapped Team (HT). It is for players whose ratings are below 800. A handicapped system is applied when a HT plays against a RT.

How it Works?
1. Team Event Format
4-player team event, ABCD vs WXYZ.
Each player will play 3 single matches and 2 double matches, resulting each team plays 4 double matches + 12 single matches in total.
The first 10 matches are 11-point games and best 3 out of 5 games.
The last 6 matches are 11-point games and best 2 out of 3 games.
A handicap system is adopted and applicable to the handicapped team, thus players of widely different skills can play an “even” match. For each 11-point game, the higher rating side gives away 1 point for every 100 rating points delta to the lower rating side till the maximum of 7 given-away-point has reached. For example, if two players' rating gap is 230, then the higher rating player will give away 3 points for each game, so the game starts as 3:0 or 0:3. For double matches, the two players’ averaging rating is used to calculate the delta between two teams' ratings. The lower rating player serves first then alternates serving the same way as regular games.
It is a giant RR, each team playing against all other teams once.
2. Matches between two teams will be played in the following order on two tables:
It is required to follow ratings when naming Player A-B-C-D or W-X-Y-Z. For example, a captain could NOT name the lowest rating player in his team as Play A.
The line-ups for the first 10 matches are determined based on rating while the last 6 matches require the captains to fill up. The captains will each place players’ names on the team match sheet without showing them to the opposing captains. After both line-ups have been completed they will be shown to the opposing captains and no further changes may be made. A captain need NOT name the last 6 matches until after completion of the first 10 matches.
If the team competition of 16-match ends with an 8-8 tie, a 31-point Brazilian format will be served as the tie-breaker.
3. The winner of the team match is the team that wins 9 matches. As soon as one team has won 9 matches, the team competition is completed.
If a player is unable to play because of illness, injury, or absence, his/her matches will be defaulted when they are due to be played.
If a team is not present to play at the scheduled starting time, matches will be defaulted as follows: After 5 minutes the first match; after an additional 15 minutes, the second match; after an additional 15 minutes, the third match.
Team matches shall be started as soon as both teams are ready. The match order listed above shall be followed except that if some of players come late. However, changing order must be agreed by both captains. Teams can have a 3-minute break between two team matches.
5. Substitutes. The team shall submit a request for substitution and get an approval from the director before the match starting time.
The substitute’s rating shall NOT be higher than the player to be substituted.
One substitute can play for different teams but cannot be in different teams at the same time.
Contact Director for players in the substitute list.
PRIZES AND POINTS SYSTEM
Based on the win, lose, or default your team finishes each week against other teams, your team will be awarded league points based on the following system. At the end of season, each team’s points earned every week will be totaled to a final score, and two teams with top two highest scores will be awarded. It is a giant RR event so the USATT RR tie ranking rule will be applied in case that multiple teams have a tie in total points they have earned. The league committee will also dispute ties between league finishers if needed.
Winning without Brazilian tie-break: 3 points
Winning with Brazilian tie-break: 2 points
Losing: 1 points
Default: 0 points

The tournament occupies two rooms (red vinyl sports flooring on all courts) and will use up to TEN (10) Joola 3000 SC tables, Nittaku 3-Star Premium balls (white, 40+).
